The stamped steel dial has been carefully treated with multiple layers of laquer to create a depth effect that holds a miniature landscape of ridges and valleys that glimmers in direct light, coming gently to rest as the light dims.

Damascus case

The OPPHAV DAMASCUS case marries two carbon steel alloys of different properties, forged together and folded several times. When exposed to acid the unique pattern is revealed, reminiscent of wood grain or the texture of water. The result is a case as beautiful as it is performant–a nod to warriors of ancient cultures from a distant past.

Case back

The case back is adorned with a stamped and surface-treated 3D motif capturing the origins of the Opphav watch. Two sapphire crystal windows provide a clear view of the beating heart of every Opphav: the Sellita SW-200-1 b (no date) movement. All Opphav Damascus watches are serialized XXX / 250 on the case back.

Strap

Made from beautiful full grain vegetable-tanned leather, and a matching liner leather of the same quality. The strap is designed to perfectly fit Straum watch cases at 22mm lug width, with the inset lug cuts and a slight padded profile on the top half of the strap. Medium weight stitching round the edge completes the look. The strap also includes the custom Straum buckle. All versions feature quick-release spring bars for easy fitting.

The thickness is 5mm at the lugs and tapers to 2.7mm at the buckle. Buckle strap length is 75mm long; holed strap length is 115mm.
